In Thailand, the Chinese are trying to buy all the country's earthworms for their energy drinks, and many farmers ignorant of the role earthworms play in soil health, and many people desperate for a little ready cash, are selling theirs (and poaching from other farmers' lands). In Laos, they have deforested whole provinces. In Burma, they control the jade mines. For some reason this does not get labeled as colonialism by another name.

Only white people get to be imperialists and colonialists. You know that. Jeez.

The different sūtras in accord with the emptiness
taught by the Sugata are definitive in meaning;
One can understand that all of those Dharmas in
which a sentient being, individual, or person are taught are provisional in meaning.

I'd have run off the farm into the thickets.

Well, I just want to make sure no one intrudes on my white, anglo, imperialist privilege.

"A wild ass" may carry several different connotations. There might be outer, inner and secret layers of meaning. :smile:

You should check with your lama about that. It is called secret meaning for a reason. :smile:

I thought I was a rouge Hokke practitioner. Which lama am I being assigned to in order to rein me in and has the word already spread that I'm supposedly a jackass?

I asked the LS for you, and it said that a "wild ass" was a euphemism for exactly what it sounds like.

Trust me, I'm Irish.

I have the treasure of the true dharma eye, I have nirvāṇa as wondrous citta, I know signless dharmatā, the subtle dharma-gate, which is not standing on written word, which is external to scriptures, which is a special dispensation, which is entrusted to Mahākāśyapa.
