There would be no reason to keep the form/style. They could just go with mainstream Kagyu and Nyingma.
I believe they don’t want the limitations of a traditional approach.
Yeah although whatever beyond-tradition potential was the
initial inspiration for the Shambhala termas seems to have been erased with SMR’s Shambhala Buddhism™ .

The decorative and ritual aspects that combine Zen and Tibetan Buddhism seems like something that could be pulled of at any center if there was the wish.

I suspect they want to keep their community, more than the trappings.

The Shambala approach has limitations built into it too. ;)

Nonetheless, we feel compelled to draw the line here – where the disparity gap between what he, as a spiritual leader, says to do and what he himself does, is so wide as to appear immeasurable.

We have been told (and have told ourselves) in many different ways how to obscure this line. Often there is a theme of imploring us to believe that Mr. Mukpo’s behavior is beyond our understanding. We are asked to regard such activity as the guru’s method of waking us up. But, looking around the world, there’s nothing so prosaic as a leader using his power and position to take advantage of people under his care.
Well said.
