going to be hilarious when one of these advanced meditators dissolves into clear light for real with a EEG on their head.

 * * shudders *

It seems any extreme actions should not be taken lightly , even medidations included!
I believe only a true expert medidator with MANY(maybe 10+ or more years of CONSISTENT practice?), should attempt anything that involves so much risk to the fragile human life.

This is not new by the way. Here ,have a look at another extreme form of medidation movement called "Breathtenism"
http://www.suprememastertv.tv/bmd/?wr_i ... goto_url=m

This strikes very close to my own heart because the place where I recieved my 5 buddhism precept from when I was young was at the Chang-Tien Chan Temple.
And the great venerable master old monk Guang Qin was the one who founded that temple.
This supreme master monk survived purely on fruits then breath alone!
If that is not near-death experience, then I do not know what else is.
The sad news is, some of the fellow buddhist discples who attempted this extreme form of mediative practice has passed away early.
My guess is one has to limit ones on movement to become near still like a rock in near-constant meditation form, with exteremely minimal expenditure in energy, in order to surive on breath and positive karma energy alone.

But still I gotta say, suicide by mediataion is a much better and peacerful way to go than suicide by any other method of suicide .But I still think this is best to be avoided unless one is in a real near-death nightmare situation with no other way out.

For example - world war ending in nuclear bombs halocaust where all countries are riddled with nuclear raditions -> aboslute hellish nightmare situation and endgame for earth (PLEASE DO NOT LET IT HAPPEN, I BEG ALL!!!)

If thats the case then earth would truly have became hell, and I would much prefer to commit suicide via 24x7 medidation instead being conscripted to fight a pointless a world war to commit murder against poor fellow humans. And I would pray to the great Shakyamuni Buddah or Amitabh Biddah, or any other buddahs to please pick me and other fellow buddhists up to their pure land, if the absolute worst case scenario should happen.

Best wishes and peace to all! :namaste:

According to several old news articles, it looks like the more "realistic" outcome of someone who goes on extreme of "path Near-Death Experiences" meditation does not disappear into the light, but become a meditation mummy instead!

Still too dangerous and potentially non-beneficial in my opinion. Just stick with consistent meditation for how long you think its reasonable and beneficial to you.

I think a good motto to go by regarding meditation length and extreme is: Do not fix what is not broken. :yinyang:
