Their emptiness differs greatly from that of the Indian based Sarma tradition.

Hello Kalden Yundrung;

what are the root texts in Boen tradition to describe the Boen-pos' views on emptiness?

The Buddhist traditions have about 18 different conceptual descriptions of the kinds of emptiness, so I would be very much obliged to know about the Boen approach regarding the emptiness.

Regards,
Kauko.

Tashi delek K,

The top of the 9 Ways in Bön is Dzogchen.
Therefore we know know different kind of emptiness, regarding the sequential level of understanding of the student.

But we sure know the emptiness of Madyamika, or one of the basics of the Tibetan Geshe degree.
That was an invention of the Gelug (who have been one time dominant in Tibet), who are/ have been authorized in (all kinds of ) examinations. (Tulku)

But it´s not bad to master Mahayana philosophy, even if it is not, used in Dzogchen.
It could be useful for other Buddhist students, who do`t understand Dzogchen Emptiness.
Some good books to read, about the philosophical View of the Tibetan Bön would be,

Donatelli Rossi
The Philosophical View of the Great Perfection in the Tibetan Bön Religion

Seili Kumagi
The 2 truths in Bön
Bönpos developed here their own interpretations of the Truths
