Can someone explain to me what the difference is between yogic forms of Kum Nye, like Tarthang Tulku teaches, and Yantra Yoga, like Chogyal Namkhai Norbu teaches?
I've read that Kum Nye is medical, but the way Tarthang Tulku seems to describe it is as a preparation to help develop the ability and qualities in order to meditate and do more advanced practices properly. Where as Chogyal Namkhai Norbu's books seem to describe Yantra Yoga as both a preparation and a path to enlightenment itself.
The exercises themselves seem quite similar to me with the postural and breathing exercises. Kum Nye even has vajra breathing too.
Is the difference mainly that Kum Nye is more medical in origin/purpose and aims to mainly prepare the practitioner?
Thank you.
