The Great Fifth

Post by kalden yungdrung » Tue May 08, 2018 4:20 pm

Tashi delek,

Ngawang Lobzang Gyatso / 5th and 6th Dalai Lamas, were Dzogchenpas, see the kLa Kang murals.

Asked myself always why he /they did not integrate Dzogchen in the Gelug as highest teaching / practice.
The Great Fifth was very powerful with the Mongolian army at his back.

- How do we call this Dzogchen Lineage in Gelug, based on the Great Fifth ?
- Is this an unbroken Lineage ?

These are Dzogchen pictures.

Yes, it is an unbroken lineage.

The current HHDL has written books and given teachings on Dzogchen.

I was told that the current HH the Dalai Lama took Dzogchen teachings from Ven. Lama Gonpo Tsetan Rinpoche.

I took this picture. I met ChNNR at this retreat when he visited. They sang old songs together and it was wonderful.
