Yes he is smoking. I have heard about him and am absolutely fascinated. He seems to be the real deal. Thank you for the url Norwegian!

However, remember that the Mahasiddha Dudjom Lingpa smoked and could exhale that smoke through the pores of His skin due to His tsa-lung practice. Even so, in His next life as H.H. Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, He had terrible asthma as a karmic residue to having smoked tobacco while Thrak-thung Dudjom Lingpa. This was Dudjom Rinpoche's own explanation for His asthma.

To be fair, no one told us in our previous lives that smoking was bad for you. Even the doctors smoked.pemachophel wrote: ↑Sat Feb 16, 2019 5:19 pm However, remember that the Mahasiddha Dudjom Lingpa smoked and could exhale that smoke through the pores of His skin due to His tsa-lung practice. Very interesting.
So he is a very high profile teacher and he once was conventional but not anymore.
But what’s happening in the video ? Some kind of divination maybe ?

I thought there was a lot written in Tibet about how awful tobacco was; that smell upset spirits and messed up the rlung and destroyed the secret mantra.
Et cetera et cetera et ceteraaaaa (the last line is to be read in Yule Brenner’s voice).

So awesome that you found footage of him. I too am fascinated by him and would love to meet him someday. I have the sneaking suspicion he might be the real deal as well.
This is from the Naldjor facebook page.
"Dzogchen Khyentse Rinpoche
(rdzogs chen mkhyen brtse rin po che, d.u.)
Dzogchen Khyentse Rinpoche is regarded as one of the five incarnations of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo 'jam dbyangs mkhyen brtse'i dbang po, 1820-1892), also known as Pema Ösal Dongag Lingpa (pad+ma 'od gsal mdo sngags gling pa). His personal name is Orgyen Tenzdzin (O rgyan bstan 'dzin ) and he is most probably the incarnation of Shönnu Lodrö (gzhon nu blo gros, 1937-1959, the manifestation of Guru Tsewang (Gu+ru tshe dbang, 1896-1935) from the famous Dzogchen Monastery, who was the body incarnation of Jyamyang Khyentse Wangpo. His name is Urgyen Danzang
Dzogchen Khyentse Rinpoche was the most important teacher of the Dzogchen Monastery (rdzogs chen dgon pa) and bestowed all the teachings and transmissions uphold in this monastery after he experientially mastered these practices. Due to his realization his behavior was that of a carefree Dzogchen practitioner and became more and more free so that the monks and officials of the monastery began to worry. Finally, due to his somehow outrageous lifestyle he was asked to leave the monastery and went to the village below.
At least from this moment on he became known as a Crazy Yogi or Naldjor Nyönpa (rnal ‘byor smyon pa) or simply as Nyönpa (smyon pa). Countless stories retell his magical and superhuman abilities like clairvoyance, reviving and liberating beings. There is also the story of the Karmapa XVII who broke into tears upon seeing his photo exclaiming: “How amazing, such a highly realized being still exist today!”
When we met him recently he came out of his small and simple house late in the morning. He was barefoot and dressed in a simple red Tibetan Chuba holding in one hand his piss pot and in the other a bottle of strong liquor. After he went around the corner he returned back mumbling and lighted a cigarette. As he continued to puff away we inquired about. We were told that he uses the method puffing away the smoke for releasing sentient beings from their sufferings and liberating beings from various illnesses, pains and inflictions, not unlike certain shamans and Native American healers.
Upon approaching him he gave a direct introduction into Dzogchen Thögal Practice (rdzogs chen thod rgal) by indicating the essential points of applying various gazes, positions while remaining in the state of natural ease and comfort filled with joy (sems nyid ngal gso’i dga ba). As he purified the stains of an offered traditional khatag (kha btags), which was not brand-new, by discarding it several times followed by trampling on it he showed his clairvoyance. By accepting the offering of high quality Chinese strong liquor he showed the accomplishments and clarity. By respectfully handing back and pointing to the name on the offering of the cigarette box with the label “Pride” he showed his respect and appreciation!"

Re: Is he smoking ?
Instead of wanting to meet him I would want to be able to reach his level of attainment (ie be him). We quite obviously need many more people like him in this world.Sherab Rigdrol wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 7:53 am So awesome that you found footage of him.
