Yes, if you received transmission from CHNN and you are a member of DC. Whenever anybody is in doubt about ordering they can use the contact page here:

http://shangshung.org/store/index.php?m ... contact_us
Thank you.

Separate question...the recordings of the webcasts are quite poor and I can barely make out what Rinpoche is saying over the translators voice most of the time. Is there a different archive with better recordings that Im not aware of?

Thanks

Hi shanehanner,

You're welcome. From my own experience the recordings vary somewhat as to the quality of the sound from one location to another, however I don't use headphones when I listen, I just listen through good speakers on my computer, so that could be something you could try. Practitioners use many kinds of devices while listening. When I've listened over a mobile phone outside, I like to have this extra battery operated speaker that works with the phone, it makes things clearer, even the chipmunk sat up and listened to Song of Vajra with the extra battery operated speaker (picture that).

I don't know of a different archive, but perhaps you might find it reassuring that over time you'll most likely get accustomed to Rinpoche's "delivery" and become more and more familiar with how he pronounces words, his vocal inflections etc... and also I believe your mind will become accustomed to the overlapping of the translator...what I mean is you'll most likely "acclimate" the longer you listen to the web casts, hopefully the overlapping will become easier for you over time.

By the way, you have a nice picture.

Can the Longde teachings be studied and practiced with the D.I alone, or is there a specific lung for Longde?

I asked ChNNR this and he said you need the empowerment.

Make sure you have not clicked on a replay meant for the Russians or Spanish etc. This is easy to do by mistake. Then Rinpoche's voice is very much under the translators.

I have watched a video and listened to some of the webcast recordings in the member area, both of which went over various semdzins but have not received these teachings live from him...Is it okay to order this text then?

Thank you to all of of you for the recommendations

I stand corrected you have to be a current member according to the instructions on the page for that book:

http://shangshung.org/store/index.php?m ... cts_id=284

As it says:

*Reserved items are materials intended for the Dzogchen Community. In order to purchase this item one must be a current member of the Dzogchen Community, and must have received Transmission from Chogyal Namkhai Norbu.

He is probably a current member now.

A few practice & retreat related questions i'm hoping some of you can help me with;

1) I want to arrange some dedicated time for the various Sem-dzin practices but i also feel that the 6-lokas purification practice would be beneficial. Is it better to concentrate on just one of these within a short retreat, or is it possible to alternate between both? If it's the former, which should be practiced first?

2) Can anyone point me to an audio or video file of the Song of Vajra being sung in a group? I'm still trying to learn it and think it would be beneficial to hear it sung together as well as Rinpoches 'solo' versions.

This is great:
http://shangshung.org/store/index.php?m ... cts_id=816
It has explanations for the short and medium thuns and a full practice of each that you can follow along with.

This book has a very detailed explanation of each aspect of the short thun:
http://shangshung.org/store/index.php?m ... cts_id=344

This has a slightly less detailed, but still detailed, description of each aspect of the medium thun:
http://shangshung.org/store/index.php?m ... cts_id=345

I haven't seen this, but it has the short medium and long thun on DVD that you can follow along with:
http://shangshung.org/store/index.php?m ... cts_id=347

EDIT:
I just realized that the last three are available to purchase on-line, but are physical products, so i don't know if thats what you are looking for or not.

I am having some difficulty and am hoping someone here can help.

I have a new email adddress and have been trying to update this on the new International Dzogchen Community website. So far i have been unsucessful. Each time enter the new address, and click save, i get a message to check my email and click the confirmation link. So far so good. That part works. I get the confirmation link but when i click it i get this message: "Wrong link. May be outdated?"

And then of course nothing happens.

I am a member in good standing but have stopped getting emails from DC. This means, of course, that i am not attending the webcasts because i dont know when they are happening.

What can i do to remedy this? Can anyone help?

I tried again this morning on the off chance that the link might have been repaired and it was so thank you to whoever repaired the link. I do appreciate it.

This is the fourth day since I was able to update my email address at new DC website and still no emails from DC (in the past they were a daily occurence). So apparently, the problem is more than it first appeared to be. I will write directly to the International Gaykail and see if that helps.
