Maybe this is a stupid question, but if one has the freedom and means to travel to Merigar (not to say that it would be easy, far from it) and is a student of ChNN, should it be endeavored at this time or is it better to practice at home? It's hard to know what to do in this situation.

There is no difference if you practice at home or you are at Merigar, or at Moon, or Mars. If you even connect to collective practice via webcast and joining together with other sangha, there is realy no difference where you are.

As we know with DI etc., our location is not important. More important to practictise together at the same time. If you feel you may regret not going, then go of course. I don't think it makes a difference to the practice, but it may comfort him to know that so many are gathering around him.

Another short email update:
Dear Vajra sisters and brothers,

We would like to inform you that the condition of the Master is similar to His condition when he returned to Merigar.

Strange experience 2 days ago.

I was watching the webcast in my living-room. The kids were playing Playmobil.
The live-video was loading and I left the room for 5 minutes.
When I came back, the video was playing (Guru Yoga with Andriano Clemente).
Unusually, the room was quiet.
The kids had left their Playmobils on the floor and were leaning on the computer table.
Each on them with blank sheets of paper and felt pens, they were drawing rainbows.

I received it from Tsegyalgar East. Haven't seen it pop up from Norbunet, either.

I'd +1 Krodha & APB and recommend going.

Strange that. Stranger still, I recall a very recent list of official sources that did not include Tsegyelgar East (actually, all it included were the Dzogchen Webcast FB updates and all communication from Khyentse Yeshe).

I don't know why the announcement hasn't arrived from elsewhere yet. But, seeing how there's no chance that Tsegyelgar East has gone rogue by forging announcements out of Merigar, I think it's safe to treat it as legit.

My opinion is that it would be better to remain where you are in meditation practicing guru yoga, since the Master is likely not receiving visitors.

While it's likely true there will be no direct visits, community, and collective practice, proximity to the physical master, intention and pilgrimage shouldn't be forgotten.

I second that, if you can go and be with the community there, you should go. Just contact Merigar and explain your intention and ask whether it is ok to travel there at this time. If you can't get there and have another local gar, go there. Community practice in person is very, very precious now.

ChNN is no further away from you than the recognition of your own primordial state.
Buddhahood in This Life

[A]nything at all that is well spoken is the word of the Buddha.

-- Ārya-adhyāśaya-sañcodana-nāma-mahāyāna-sūtra

The different sūtras in accord with the emptiness
taught by the Sugata are definitive in meaning;
One can understand that all of those Dharmas in
which a sentient being, individual, or person are taught are provisional in meaning.
