Various organizations who enact the activity of life release, Tsethar.

"The benefits of this practice have been described extensively
In many sutras, tantras and treatises.
Oceanlike gatherings of learned and accomplished masters of India and Tibet
Have considered this an important way to aid beings.

For those of the Hinayana,
This practice represents the abandoning of harming others;
For those who have entered the mind of awakening of the Mahayana,
It represents the training itself;
And for pracitioners of the Secret Mantra,
It represents the principal tantric commitment of the Jewel buddha family.

The reason for this is that in the world,
Nothing is more precious than life itself
And no negative act more serious than taking life.
Therefore, among composite forms of the roots of virtue,
None has greater benefit
Than the ransom and release of animals.
If you wish for happiness and good fortune,
Be diligent on this supreme path..."

- Chadral Rinpoche
---
"When asked about adjusting the practice to the situation in Western countries, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa said that the meaning of life release is broad, that the practice can be done in a variety of ways, and that we should use our intelligence in deciding what way is most suitable in our particular circumstance.

During the Kagyu Monlam Chenmo 2007, in his address about protecting environment, His Holiness the Seventeenth Gyalwa Karmapa encouraged the sangha to engage in planting trees as a form of activity that accords with the spirit of life release."

his body has still not been buried.

anyone knows what needs be for this to happen?
Does that mean that in some form he still is living?

His body may be a source of veneration for a very long time.
It's unlikely he will be buried, but rather interred in a stupa.

Since the phenomena of nirvana depend on the pristine consciousness of vidyā, because one remains in the immediacy of vidyā, buddhahood arises on its own. I understand that Rinpoche nominated four lineage holders. Who are they?

At Rinpoche's parinirvana it was very clear that Kathok Situ Rinpoche and Dudjom Yangsi Rinpoche are the two lineage holders in addition to Semo Sarawsati. While a fortunate number were called heart sons those first two are the ones carrying on what needs to be carried on.

And yes his kudung is in the stupa that was constructed in Pharphing for that purpose.

There is no end to all the subjects one could study.
It is better to grasp straight away their very essence--
The unchanging fortress of the Dharmakaya."

Monks said there is yet a drop to come from a nostril (translation was bad), hence my question.

I received salt in which the body was stored. What is the respectable way for me to treat that salt?

Thanks.

Send it to me.Or you could put in a container for pills you can get at walmart
and wear it.Then again you could keep it in any secure container and put it
on your alter.
How did you come by the salt?

Do you know if Semo la Saraswati Rinpoche is taking students? I mean, does she teach westerners? Or are there any guys practicing around in Pharping under her guidance?

Yes, Seymo Saraswati Rinpoche has Western students.

You can put the salt in an amulet which you wear, in a small stupa or zi-wu lha-khang on your shrine, inside a statue, inside a stupa, or you can use it as an ingredient in dud-tsi cho-men or other empowered pills, such as tshe-ril/long-life pills.
