Increase in 5 Poisons

Here is my problem. I am around a lot of worldly people lately between work, school, and friends I've picked up from both these areas of my life. I'm not around Buddhists, and not around Tibetan Buddhists very much anymore. I have no problem with worldly people; they are just people. And while I love and care about some of these people, I have, in general, however, noticed a considerable increase in the 5 poisons in many of the people around me, in various aspects of their lives. What is going on? Is this just because this is the kali yuga age? Is the increase of power of negative and harmful spirits to blame? Are things going to shit out in the world, society breaking down too much? I certainly think they are. What do you guys think? Your input and feedback is appreciated.

Please bear in mind, no I am not a total renunciate, I understand that the 5 poisons are a part of life and that they will be around, I just happen to perceive an increase in them in the people I have been around, and frankly, it;'s a bit scary. Also, to some degree it has been true of myself, but I am working on that as best I can.

What do you guys think?

Your feedback is appreciated.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN FIVE CHAPTERS
Portia Nelson

1) I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in.
I am lost...
I am hopeless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

2) I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I'm in the same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

3) I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in...it's a habit
My eyes are open; I know where I am;
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

4) I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

5) I walk down another street.

If you see the poisons it is good.

If you see the virtues it is better.

If you see the Buddha, it is best of all.

By seeing the poisons, you will know how not to be.

By seeing the virtues, you will know how to be.

By seeing the Buddha, you won't need to be at all.

Sry if this sounds pompous, it just came out that way. Namaste.
