Post by mahabuddha » Wed Jan 04, 2017 5:33 am

Chicago Ratna Shri Sangha is hosting Venerable Lama Konchok Sonam is the Spiritual Director of the Drikung Meditation Center in Boston and will be bestowing the Medicine Buddha Jangwa – purification ritual to benefit the deceased

For those that can't attend please send the full name of your deceased friend or family member along with $10 per name via PayPal to https://goo.gl/D0uKlP - The names of your departed friends and family members will be included during the ceremony on Sunday.

The Jangwa ceremony is extremely important for those that have passed away. The negativities of the past and future lives are purified so that our loved ones have beneficial rebirths and do not fall into the lower realms. This is a very auspicious and rare ceremony that allows us as friends and family to benefit loved ones that we have lost.

The Jangwa Puja involves a variety of practices for benefiting those who've passed away through purification, the making of offerings, recitation of prayers and mantras, and various visualizations to help them to gain good future rebirths and to follow the path to Enlightenment.

Friday night will be Tibetan Buddhism teachings and explanations of weekend empowerments. Note this is held at Chicago Ratna Shri Sangha Center at 5337 W Cullom, Chicago, IL.

Saturday will be the Medicine Buddha Empowerment followed by teachings.

Sunday will be Amitabha and Jangwa ritual for the deceased.

For those that are attending the ceremony we ask that no more than five names are included but if you'd like to include more please contact Justin at ratnachi@hotmail.com
