Kunchok Trinley Lhundrup Namgyal was born in Kathmandu, Nepal in 1984 as the eldest son of Lama Jorje, brother of H.E. Ayang Rinpoche. At the age of 2, H.H. Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche and H.H. Drikung Chungtsang Rinpoche recognised him as the 21st incarnation of Choeze Kuchen Rinpoche. Choeze Kuchen Rinpoche was one of the high lamas of Choeze Monastery in Kham, Tibet. He is regardsd as the manifestation of Yamantaka.

On introducing his previous lives, he was born as a bright brahmin named Salwa (Prabha) during the times of Buddha Dipankara. During the time of the Dharma King Songtsen Gampo, he took birth as a Thomi Sambhota who later went in the presence of the Indian scholar Lekchin and brought to Tibet many teachings from the sutras and tantras. He also reincarnated as Nged-phupa, a great master of Mahamudra during the times of Kyobpa Jigten Sumgön Rinpoche.

The present incarnation of Choeze Kuchen Rinpoche has received immense knowledge and wisdom at a very young age. He had undergone 7 years of teaching of Buddhist Philosophy and teachings on the Drikung Kagyu tradition at the Ayang Monastery. He has received many precepts, oral transmissions, initiations from H.H. Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche and teachings on Phowa from H.E. Ayang Rinpoche. From H.H. Penor Rinpoche, he has been bestowed with teachings on entire Nyingma tradition.

Besides, Rinpoche had spent 2 years in retreat and meditation specially on Yamantaka, Padmasambhava, White Tara and Achi at Pharping, one of the holy pilgrimage places of Padmasambhava. At the very young age of 20, Rinpoche has established a retreat centre at Pharping, Nepal, named Achi Namkha Thinksang and is currently gathering effort and working on constructing another retreat centre in Kham itself.
