Please pm me
Thanks

Whose version of the practice is it (ie what is the lineage)?

I'm guessing four armed Sitatapatra terma by Nuden Dorje?

(By the way, you can always send an email to Rinpoche's helpers)

I'll second that. You may need to email a few times, but they will respond. I'm sure lots of folks here know this mantra, but if you can't get anywhere after a few days, pm me and I can try asking my lama, who would know this particular version.

When this was announced? Where did they tell about this?

I don't know, I'll have to go watch it again,

I found a picture of the back of the deity card with the mantra, but it doesn't seem to match what was given in the empowerment.

I've had the Wang with Garchen Rinpoche and that's the Mantra I was given.

Yes, but that is not the mantra he actually gave during this empowerment. Later on, he said we could use any Tara mantra because White Umbrella is an emanation of Tara. So those mantras are good, I just wanted the one he gave. A vajra brother listened to the video and wrote out that mantra for me.

Anyone have ideas on the practice text for this?

Is she generally associated with the moon? I'm asking because she's sometimes called "Soma-Lady". Further, what's the principal difference to White Tara?

Now that I thought about it (and somebody please correct me if I am wrong) the mantra on the back of the card is from her Sutra and does not require transmission, the mantra Garchen Rinpoche gave may be from a Tantra or tantric practice, so...
"My religion is not deceiving myself."

There is more than one "White Tara":

Shiwa Chenmo / Yangchenmo
Rabtu Zhima
Maja Chenmo /Dugselma - This one carries the moon
Mipham Gyalmo / Dugkarma - This one carries the umbrella
Lhama Ozer Chenmo
"My religion is not deceiving myself."
Jetsun Milarepa 1052-1135 CE

Ok, thx. Would anyone here claim that White Tara (thus including Sitatapatra) has any special proximity or connection to the moon? Or would you say this is too far-fetched?

Edit: I just found some references to the role of the moon in Tara practices in the book "Tara's enlightened activity" by Khenchen Palden Sherab and Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal, http://www.shambhala.com/tara-s-enlight ... ivity.html.

If I recall correctly, HHDL prefers to give the white Tara Empowerment on the full moon.

I've always assumed that one of White Tara's aspects was that of being a moon goddess, especially representing the full moon, but I don't really have anything to back that up.

This transliteration is a very bad one, but I'm almost certain that this was the one given by Rinpoche!
"OM SITATAPATRA PARAJITE SARVAGRAHANANT TRASAYS TRASYA HANA HANA DRUM DRUM HUM HUM PHAT PHAT SVAHA"
“Whatever has to happen, let it happen!”
“Whatever the situation is, it’s fine!”

That's the challenge, corrupt pronunciation with even more corrupt transliteration.....
