Manjushri Sadhana

Post by Karma Senge » Sun Dec 30, 2018 10:52 pm

Tashi Delek! Hi all!

I am looking for some commentary/visualization help for this:

https://www.namsebangdzo.com/Manjushri- ... /13429.htm

specifically the practice within, entitled, "The Sadhana of Manjushri the Dispels the Darkness of Ignorance"

I have seen this: https://tibetan-translations.com/2011/0 ... -rinpoche/

but am hoping to find more!

Second question: where does the six syllable mantra come in for Manjushri, if the sadhana has 21? And why is it so dern hard to find a decent googleimage of the long one.

Third Question: this is what appears an one of the above links:

OM HRĪH DHĪH MAME DIPAM MAÑJUSHRĪ MUM HRĪH PRAJÑĀVARDHANI HRĪH DHĪH SVĀHĀ

Can I get some explanation about this? The whole thing, but specifically the prajnavardhani part (prajna=intelligence, but vardhani?). I get the OM HRIH DHIH as the seed syllable part; is the mame referring to Saraswati?

Thank you!

Sarva Mangalam!

Who did you receive this practice from?

Howdy-

Wang from a Nyingma lama; no lung though. Tenzin Norgey.

And I know this isn't official, but I was randomly gifted a huge Manjushri tanghka from a Gelug lama.

From what I have been told: wang generally includes the lung too.

I was a rank newbie, and the whole thing was in Tibetan, as he was flown in for the empowerment ceremony.

The Sadhana that you linked from Namse Bongdzo is a different form of Manjushri than the more common Orange Manjushri.

Do you remember which empowerment that you recieved? The form of Manjushri from the Sadhana you linked to has it's been own specific empowerment which is part of the "ChikShe KunDrol" cycle.

This is a great and fairly short Manjushri practice by the way.

Hope this helps.

There was a great comentary available on line for this.
I also have this practice, given to me by my good friend who is also an important lama, but not my root lama. He didn't give an empowerment.
I copied the commentary and may have it somewhere. I will look for it and if I can find it I will send a message.

Yes, afaik Prajñávardhani refers to Saraswati:
