Sakya school closest to Indian roots

Post by clan »

Hi friends,

can somebody explain why Sakya school have epithet as being most truthful to its
Indian roots, or that they are closest to what vajrayana once looked in India.
So what is characteristics of Sakya school/practice/masters that deserve such a high epithet?

thx!

Hi! Where does the Sakya school assert that they are the closest to Indian roots or Indian Vajrayana?

Thanks!

Nowhere, this is some general opinion I always stumble upon, like one of their characteristic.
Here also, on Dharma Wheel you can read in some of the posts same opinion.

Well actually I was thinking of the earlier transmission. It is claimed essentially that the Sakya school reflects the later Indian Vajrayana somewhat closely. However once in Tibet there were many changes. But in terms of much of practice and teaching this is said to be true.
