The Karate Kid movie

I am watching the original Karate Kid with my kids, to help teach them to live with honor, and to always protect those who are weaker than themselves.

I don't know if Keisuke Miyagi is a Buddhist character, but in the Next Karate Kid, he takes Julie to a Buddhist monastery to train in the martial arts.

Interestingly, the Ninja Turtles were also originally written as Buddhist characters:

Probably the most realistic review of the movie I have ever seen!

Haha

You beat me to the punch.

"...granted supernatural strength by the demon sorcerer Miyagi"
“...we should try to acquire clairvoyance. Without it, we are like a baby bird whose wings are undeveloped and has not yet grown feathers and remains stuck in its nest, unable to fly. Without clairvoyance, we cannot work for other sentient beings.” — Khunu Lama
“Just as a bird can not fly without both wings,
The welfare of others cannot be accomplished without the higher faculties of perception,
So diligently strive for your own wellbeing, whilst mentally considering the welfare of others.” — Longchenpa

The martial arts, including kung fu and ninjutsu, were originally invented for the protection of Buddhist temples and monasteries.
