Found these pretty interesting, especially on Mahayana Abhidharma vs Hinayana Abhidharma.

Anyway I haven't read the whole thing, only a bit as I had to return the book but I find it very interesting and rather more concrete and practical in many ways than the Bodhicaryavatara and other works influenced by it. Engle notes this in the lecture too.

For example, the Bodhisattvabhumi says that as part of danaparamita, bodhisattvas in training should certainly be generous in giving but furthermore should be wise in appraising the value of things, and aim for big businesses rather than minor ones.

In another section, it says essentially that bodhisattvas have to balance their own interests with that of others and that helping others at one's own expense is foolish. I find this an interesting contrast with a lot of ngondro/lamrim literature which says that even thinking about one's own aims goes against bodhicitta.

Overall, it seems to me that the Bodhisattvabhumi is actually very detailed and practical about the development of practitioners.
