The Oral Instruction of the Essential Instructions for The Illusory Movements from The Oral Transmission of Dzogpachenpo (from the Ancient Country) Zhangzhung (rDzogs pa chen pa zhang zhung snyan rgyud las ‘khrul ‘khor zhal shes man ngag bzhugs so//)

(III.1.2. The Root Magical Movements Removing Obstacles)

Second, as for the Magical Movements Removing Obstacles there are taught 5 successive distinct (movements):

(1.) Swan Drinking Water,
(2.) Female Yak Butting its Horn, and
(3.) Female Kyang´s Reclining Stance,
(4.) Hawk Soaring in the Air, and
(5.) Four Continent´s Final Rolling Up, are the five Magical Movements Removing Obstacles.

1. Magical Movement of the Swan (Drinking Water).
(Stand and completely) straighten the body and hold the waist with the `handles´ (thumbs and forefingers), thumbs pointing forward.
Bend down to the front touching the top of the head to the ground,
and extend the top of the head backwards, like this each at one time.
Repeat (the movement) in the same way 7 times.

(Finish) agitating and shaking (arms and legs) and expel the vital energies with the stale breath (through nose and mouth) sounding HA.

2. Female Yak Butting its Horn.
Stand upright and hold the waist with the fingers pointing forward.
The upper part of the body spins (downward and to the right) onto the (left) knee while crossing (the legs in a jumping step).
Rotate (and alternate spinning down and crossing) 7 times.

3. Female Kyang´s Reclining Stance.
Straighten the (whole) body (and stand upright) and hold the waist with your fingers pointing forward.
Turn the upper part of the body so that the (right) elbow is tangible touching the (left) knee;
the right towards the left at one time.
Repeat (the movement) alternating sides 7 times.

(Finish) agitating and shaking (arms and legs) and
expel the vital energies with the stale breath (through nose and mouth) sounding HA.

4. Hawk Soaring in the Air.
Hold the waist with the `handles´ (thumbs and forefingers), thumbs pointing forward, and (stand upright) with the feet united and held equally)
Turn the upper part of the body forward and tilt it backwards at one time.
Repeat (the movement) 7 times.

5. Four Continents´ Final Rolling Up.
Straighten the (whole) body like a stroke and cross the arms by turning the right and left hands towards the (respective armpits, with the right foot tangible touching the point above the left knee, and then likewise with the left foot tangible touching the point above the left knee), each at one time.
Repeat (the movement) 7 times.

It is necessary to (finish) all (movements) by agitating and shaking (arms and legs) and (expeling the vital energies with the stale breath through nose and mouth) sounding HA.

(II.1.2.1. Virtuous Qualities of the 5 Magical Movements Removing Obstacles)

(1.) The Virtuous Qualities of the Swan Drinking Water:
By liberating the source of the diseases of the four collections (of the humors wind, bile, phlegm and blood) the doorways of the subtle channels of the space element is opened.

(2.) The Virtuous Qualities of the Female Yak Butting its Horn.
By liberating the source of the diseases of heat and fever (the humor phlegm) the doorways of the subtle channels of the earth element is opened.

(3.) The Virtuous Qualities of the Female Kyang´s Reclining Stance.
By liberating the source of the diseases of the humor bile and phlegm (bile) the doorways of the subtle channels of the air element is opened.

(4.) The Virtuous Qualities of the Hawk Soaring in the Air.
By liberating the source of the diseases of (increasing) heat are liberated the doorways of the subtle channels of the fire element is opened.

(5.) The Virtuous Qualities of the Four Continents´ Final Rolling Up.
By liberating the source of the diseases of cold the doorways of the subtle channels of the water element is opened.

As for the general (virtuous qualities of the 5 Illusory Movements Removing Obstacles the practitioner) attains the power of swift-running, the blazing of heat, and transforms (all the) adverse conditions thus increasing one´s life (force and life span).

These are the virtuous qualities of the (Five Root) Magical Movements Removing Obstacles according to the teachings, which are attributed to the realization of Togme Zhigpo.

By perfecting the strength of the vital energy of the life-force
drowsiness and agitation are purified into one´s own place.
As vital energy and mind is inserted into the central channel
the constant movements of the host of thoughts are liberated.

Nowadays the Tibetans can speak Chinese and write it too.

Means that Bön Dharma written in Chinese, that can be translated by Google.
Tibetan is still not translated by Google......

This video shows Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin demonstrating the tsalung, tummo & thrulkhor movements and breathing from Yungdrung Bön Mother Tantra.

It accompanies a new richly illustrated practice manual, the first of its kind, with clear, full colour computer graphics showing the visualisation for channels, chakras, symbols and deities.

The illustrations have been prepared in close collaboration with Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin, Abbot of Meditation School at Triten Norbutse Bönpo Monastery, Kathmandu, Nepal, and each detail has been checked against the Magyu texts and verified by Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche.

THE BOOK CAN BE ORDERED HERE: https://tinyurl.com/ybkbffbe

ABOUT THE BOOK

"Magyu Tsalung & Tummo" is the first such detailed and richly illustrated manual for the ancient practice of yoga of winds, channels, inner heat and physical exercises.

Here, Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin teaches a text extracted from the Mother Tantra of Yungdrung Bön, the spiritual tradition of Tibet which stems from the Central Asian Buddha Tönpa Shenrab Miwo who predates the more widely known Indian Buddha Shakyamuni by thousands of years.

While these techniques were previously reserved for those initiated into the Mother Tantra, Drubdra Khenpo has decided to share his daily practice with a wider audience because these methods have the potential to bring profound benefit not only for the development of meditation but also for health.

The tsalung and tummo techniques explained in detail here can be practised safely, but it is advisable to receive scriptural authorisation and further instructions from the master in order to avoid common pitfalls and further develop your practice.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin was born in Yetha in the Hor region of East Tibet, in 1968 to a Bönpo family of nomadic cattle herders. He entered Lungkar Monastery at the age of nineteen, then the Menri Monastery in Central Tibet six years later. In 1993 he joined Triten Norbutse Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal, where he studied Sutra, Tantra and Dzogchen with his root Master Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche. In 2001 he obtained his Geshe degree (PhD) there.

In 2002 Tsultrim Tenzin was appointed by Yongdzin Rinpoche as the Abbot of the Meditation School in Triten Norbutse. Since then he has been teaching Dzogchen in the meditation school and other subjects in the dialectic school.

Alongside teaching, Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche has been practising Dzogchen meditation and Magyu tsalung, thrulkhor and tummo for two hours every morning. He sometimes travels to Tibet, China, Japan, Europe and England to teach Bönpo Dzogchen, Tantra and tsalung.

Tashi delek,

The 9 rounds of purification breathing is a part in many Tibetan Yoga styles.

Below a very funny explanation how these breathings can remove blockages in the Nadis.

Tashi delek,

Professor Alejandro Chaoul, a Bönpo who likes the Tsalung Trulkor very much.
He is connected to Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche in the Colorado / USA
All in all a very experienced Tsalung Trulkor practitioner.

In this episode of the Wisdom Podcast, host Daniel Aitken speaks with Alejandro Chaoul, scholar and practitioner in the Bön tradition of Tibet and teacher of tsa lung trul khor, the art of Tibetan yantra yoga.

In Tibetan, tsa lung means “channels and winds” while trul khor translates as “magical movements.” Alejandro is a professor at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where he researches Tibetan mind-body techniques for cancer patients.

In this fascinating conversation, you’ll hear Alejandro share his lifelong spiritual journey—from studying with Hindu masters in India, to practicing Dzogchen with Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche and Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche.

Alejandro talks about what initially drew him to the Bön tradition, and how his primary teachers, H. E. Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche and Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, have profoundly shaped his life and career.

Alejandro also shares insights on what distinguishes Bön from other Tibetan traditions, as well as the differences between Tibetan yoga and Indian yogic traditions.

Tashi delek,

Alechandro, we know him in Bön as a good Tsalung Trulkor Master
He was also engaged for years ago in the Community of the late Namkhai Norbu, but left for some unknown reasons to Bön and he joined in the Bön Tradition Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.

Welcome to join us for monthly meditations and other programs
The 20 years at MD Anderson were wonderful and the last class--on meditation and art-- one of the participants took this picture. I am very grateful!
And maybe there will be more opportunities to still teach at MD Anderson.
