Tashi delek,

This is also Bön.

Sangye Kandro told me about this dance:

It's a Bon culture.... I don't know exactly...mom told me that it's very very old and used to dance since from many years ago..... Dance called Shon ཤོན།

KY:
I saw many Chaam dances in the Tibetan Traditions, but this dance, i never saw. It is special , also in Bön. Will try, to get some more informations from Sangye Kandro, regarding the meaning of this dance.

More than 50 years ago, the Tibetan Bön Buddhist tradition was driven from its refuge deep within the Himalayas. This is the story of the long and difficult journey that followed.

Told through the lens of one Bön teacher born in exile—Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche—this film reveals something very precious and very old: a rich spiritual heritage, hidden for millennia, whose secret teachings are only now becoming known to the world.

There may be no unbroken spiritual tradition more ancient than Bön, which traces its beginnings to a buddha who predates Shakyamuni by thousands of years.
Yet this tradition today may be facing its greatest challenge thus far: to preserve its rich heritage beyond the land of its birth.

“The Light of the Golden Sun provides a beautiful and inspiring insight into Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and his challenges in bringing the wisdom of Bön to the West. It clearly shares that light through the people who helped manifest his vision and who are benefiting from the transformative practices of this ancient tradition.”
—John Jackson

“The Bön texts are thousands of years old, and I am sure that not even 7 percent of what is still in monasteries, libraries and caves has been translated. Even without taking into consideration the spiritual aspect, Bön should be preserved as a treasure for humanity just for its cultural aspect.”
—Anne Klein

Tashi delek,

Nice to hear what DW members , outside the Bön forum have so their opinions and objections.

One opinion of the outsiders would be that the Bön Buddha Tönpa Shenrab would be NOT a Buddha, whereas Bön has 1000 Buddhas in their believe / conviction, including the Nepali Buddha Shakyamuni.

Others believe that Buddha Tönpa Shenrab would be a mythological entity , all non sense in the conviction of Bönpos.
But all that non sense is not so new in the world of Bönpos.

So what would be NOT Bön ?
In general the opinions held by non Bönpos and sometimes there are similarities which we can share, sure they exist , no doubt about it.
