At Dawn on January 17, 2018, the 12th moon month of the Tibetan calendar is coming.

This is the last month of winter, and according to the tradition of Kalachakra Tantra is also a month of the constellation " gyal ". a month has such a name because in the 15th moon day the moon is in the constellation " gyal ".

The Tibetan translation has 2 meanings.
- The first meaning is Victory ,
- The second meaning is King.

Such a name this constellation has received because according to the tradition of Bön it is believed that it is under this constellation, in the family of the king of the country Tadzik, was born the Buddha Tönpa Shenrab (founder of the Bön tradition) 18034 years ago.

According to the calendar of Zhang Zhung, it is on the full moon of the 12th lunar month that each year celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Buddha Tönpa Shenrab. The month of birth of Tönpa Shenrab is thus accepted for the beginning of the year.

Therefore, "Bönpo Losar" (or new year's tradition of Bön) comes at the dawn of the first lunar day of the 12th lunar month, that is, on January 17, 2018, with congratulations to all good followers of this tradition.
