Feeding of the Yidaks

Post by kalden yungdrung »

Tashi delek,

Yidaks or hungry Ghosts cannot feed themselves so easy. They have huge bodies and tiny mouths and everything they touch changes in puss etc. Even if they can eat that it burns in their throats as hot coals.

Therefore in Bön and Vajrayana, is developed out of Compassion the ritual of Chu Tor.

We make use of tiny copper plates and a Bumpa.
Ones body is dissolved as food into the Bumpa.

The the ritual starts.
Below gives Arta Lama from Russia a good performance of the Chu Tor offering / water offering, which the hungry Ghosts can eat. By that they do not suffer and are feed. During that time they are able to hear Dharma, because the intense hunger stopped.

The best meditation is no meditation
