Japanese Romanji Translation - Chapter 3

Post by Oda2 »

Hello Dharma Friends!

Does anyone know where I can find a romanji and English translation of Chapter 3 of the Lotus Sutra: The Parable of the Burning House?

Does this even exist? I've looked all over and can't quite seem to find one.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You mean transliteration of the shindoku reading?

Check with Nichiren shu - I vaguely recall hearing they transliterated the entire text.
Those who, even with distracted minds,
Entered a stupa compound
And chanted but once, “Namo Buddhaya!”
Have certainly attained the path of the buddhas.

-Lotus Sutra, Expedient Means Chapter

There are beings with little dust in their eyes who are falling away because they do not hear the Dhamma. There will be those who will understand the Dhamma.

Thanks for responding. I mean a side by side translation of the text in phonetic Japanese (romanji).

I checked with Nichiren shu but they said they didn't have one available.

I'm starting to think that it doesn't exist.
