Audio of a Jigme Lingpa Text in Tibetan

Post by weitsicht » Thu Dec 07, 2017 8:14 pm

Dear All,

I have a text I feel very close to and which I do recite quite often
http://unfetteredmind.org/revelations-o ... sent-good/

I also have it in Tibetan (a pdf copy from Ken McLeod's book) and would very much like to learn pronouncing it in Tibetan (without starting to learn Tibetan).
I'd be grateful if anyone could help me out with producing an audio recording. Volunteer please contact me.

Thanks in advance.

If anyone can provide the name of the Tibetan text, that would be helpful.

OK, the text is called "kun tu bzang po'i dgongs nyams" and this appears to be the Wylie transliteration:
http://rywiki.tsadra.org/index.php/kun_ ... ongs_nyams

There's another translation in Van Schaik's "Approaching The Great Perfection", as well as the Wylie.

If you use this site: http://www.thlib.org/reference/translit ... verter.php
you can get an approximate phonetic rendering of the Tibetan from the Wylie.
For example the first line of the text, translated by McLeod as:

I bow to the aware Ever-present Good.

is:

dran pa kun tu bzang po la phyag 'tshal lo

in Wylie. If you plug that into the box at the website above you will get:

dren pa kün tu zang po la chak tsel lo

using the default settings. Keep in mind that the phonetics may not really be all that accurate and there are various dialects that can sound quite different. Anyway, you can at least get a feeling for the pronunciation this way.
