The Brief Biography of HH. Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche

His Holiness is the fourth lineage holder of Taksham Samten Lingpa, also known as the lineage of Mountain Masters in Tibet. Born in 1939 to his father the 3rd Ripa Lineage holder Ripa Jigme Tsewang Chokdup, and his mother Mayum Palden Tsomo who is the great grand daughter of Tokden Shakya Shri, a great Mahasiddha who has reached the utmost pinnacle of Tzogchen and Mahamudra.

There are numerous accounts of auspicious signs at the moment of Rinpoche's birth, among the most obvious were flowers showered like rain during the chilly snowing winter. Being a Terton prophesized by Guru Rinpoche, His Eminence was recognized by the Dharma heir and son of Tokden Shakya Shri - Sé Phakchok Rinpoche, as one of the most important Treasure Revealers of our time. An enthronement ceremony was conducted by Jigme Chonjung Lingpa at Rigon Tashi Choeling in Tibet when Rinpoche was 6 years old.

From an early age, His Eminence was able to read and comprehend sacred verses without any guidance from teachers. From the age of 9, His Eminence started to have pure vision with Zithro Hundred Deities and divine figures from the Mandala of Three Roots; At age of 10, A pure vision with Dorje Drollo, His Eminence was given a secret prophesy; when Rinpoche was 13 years old, Guru Rinpoche came and conferred on him the secret name Dorje Jizid Tsal and gave a prophesy:" In the time of kaliyuga, plague and war will be rampant, human beings will suffer untimely death, Tibet will be in chaos and this is the ripened time my terma will be revealed by prophesized Terton (Namkha Rinpoche); The coming obstacles will be dispelled by you with pacification, enrichment, magnetization, subjugation aspects of Lord Gesar, with the blessing of Guru Rinpoche these teachings will be widespread." His Eminence later had pure vision with Longchenpa who gave pith instructions of Nyingtik cycle and wisdom nectar, Rinpoche had thereafter acquired the wisdom of swift learning.

His Eminence always encourages the younger generation to study hard by mentioning his past experience:" You all are blessed with conducive environment to learn! Today there are still many illiterates. I didn't have the chance to receive a proper education during childhood due to external circumstances, not even basic grammar, much less the tripitaka. But I am extremely fortunate to receive blessings from Longchenpa to master the wisdom of Kangyur and Tengyur. If you don't have this kind of chance, you better treasure your opportunity to learn and be very hardworking."
At the age of 15, His Eminence had another pure vision of Hayagriva, Vajra Kilaya, Dorje Drollo, wrathful Guru Rinpoche manifested in the form of nine head and eighteen hands and Yeshe Tsogyal.

Namkha Rinpoche received most teachings and empowerments of Nyingma tradition under the second Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, the Nyingma Kama teachings under Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, empowerment and oral transmission of Nyingtik cycle under Penor Rinpoche and Rigzin Terzod under the first Kalu Rinpoche. Dungsey Thinley Norbu Rinpoche once said:" If one is fortunate enough to learn and receive oral transmission and empowerment from Kyabje Namkha Drimed Rinpoche, he doesn't have to look for other masters as I know no master who actually excels Namkha Drimed Rinpoche."

His Eminence revealed numerous concealed terma from Bhutan, Tibet and India. Many locals have witnessed rays of rainbow illuminating out from his retreat hut while he revealed the holy practice of wrathful Dorje Drollo. While residing in Bumthang, Rinpoche revealed the terma of Padmasambhava and Vajrakilaya. Rinpoche's most known terma of Lord Gesar practices were revealed in Pemakod. Dudjom Jigral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche, Chagtral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche have all composed supplication and longevity prayers for His Eminence.

When dwelling in Tibet, by the instruction of a dakini, His Eminence has accepted a consort named Tsewang Drolma and had a son, Tenzin Nyima Rinpoche, who is currently the abbot of Rigon Tashi Choeling Monastery in Tibet. When His Eminence came to India, Rinpoche had then subsequently received an instruction by Lord Agar Werma, the pacification aspect of Lord Gesar to meet his consort Jigme Tsogyal and had two sons Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche and Lhuntrul Dechen Gyurme Rinpoche who are currently His Eminence's most important assistants to propagate Buddhadharma. Introduction of Gesar Drala Gyalpo (of Magnetization Activities)

The Magnetising aspect of Gesar is known as Dralha Gyalpo (King of the Warrior Gods). He is the embodiment of the speech blessings of all the Buddhas and is non dual from Guru Padma Thodtreng Tsal. He resides in a palace of great bliss (maha sukha) and magnetising activity in a semi-circular mandala which has only one entrance. The entire palatial mandala glows and radiates a lotus reddish light resplendently. Precious gemstones, crystals and jewels ornament the entire palace and vast nets of lotus blossoms emit light reflecting the lustre of pearls and bells which adorn the arrays of jewelled nets. In the very centre of the palatial mansion, there is a solid gold throne embellished with countless gems upon which the Great King Lion Dralha Gyalpo in full royal regalia sits atop the luxurious silks and brocade. He is 16 years of age, bright red in colour blazing with hundreds of beautiful expressions of blissful passion which captivate and enthrall even the daughters of Brahma. He exudes magnificence in appearance and stature which attracts and tames the consciousness of all sentient beings. He wears a light blue inner vestment usually donned by accomplished adepts. A cloak and hood of red silk brocade, a jewelled crown with tassels and red flowers and multi-coloured boots completes his royal attire. Reddish ornaments such as necklaces, pearls and other jewelled accouterments enhance his charismatic appearance. He holds a vajra hook in his right hand summoning the essence of prosperity and abundance with the charisma of a King of the trichiliocosm (Trisahasra-maha-sahasra-lokadhatu). In his left hand, he has a lasso made of a garland of red lotus flowers which can irresistibly draw and attract all beings both human and devas in the three worlds, holding them spellbound as if in a stupor. He is in the royal ease posture (rajalilasana) with his right leg slightly stretched outwards and the left drawn in.

This particular deity (istadevata) Dralha Gyalpo who is the magnetising aspect of Great Lion Wish Fulfilling Jewel King Gesar (Maha Singha Mani Raja), with his blissful play and dance makes the three realms of existence (traidhātuka) quiver. His joyous and melodious laughter magnetise and enraptures all beings. Magnetising deities such as The Powerful Horse-headed Hayagriva, Goddess Kurukulle the Enchantress, Mahadeva & Umadevi, with all their entourage, dralhas (warrior gods), protectors and guardian spirits encircle and surround the main deity, Dralha Gyalpo, bestowing on sincere practitioners the accomplishment of magnetising activities within the three realms. Supreme blessing of the body (energy and effulgence), speech (realisation of all wishes) and mind (meditative state of bliss and emptiness) will also ensue from this particular practice. Meditating on this deity shall also allow the practitioner to enthrall and magnetise all beings in the three worlds and help to accomplish all our mundane or supramundane wishes. Accomplishment in magnetising activities allow us to gain control over the phenomenal world so that we can fulfill our worldly aims for the benefit of all beings.

Introduction of Trogyal Barwa (Wrathful Subduing Aspect of Gesar)

The Wrathful Subduing Aspect of Gesar is known as Trogyal Barwa. He is the manifestation of Manjusri in his wrathful form of Yamantaka Vajrabhairava. He is reddish black in color, baring four pointed teeth prominently in a threatening snarl. The three glaring eyes symbolise the three kayas (dharmakaya, sambhogakaya, nirmanakaya). This also refer to three aspects of the true nature of our mind where everything we perceive around us is nirmanakaya; its nature is sambhogakaya; and its inherent truth, the dharmakaya. He holds the bow & arrow of skillful means (upāya) which stir the minds and agitate the hordes of maras and rākṣasas. He is armed with a meteorite sword to sever the heads of demons, a long vajra spear to target the hearts of samaya breakers, a wrathful hook to gouge the eyes of enemies and a blazing crescent-shaped flaying knife (drigug in Tibetan / kartri in Sanskrit) which cut the life force of enemies. The red colored stallion with bared fangs, is the emanation of Mahabala Hayagriva, blazes with the fire that appears at the end of the kalpa. The entourage of dharma protectors surrounding the deity emits sparks of fire, taming and subduing devas, nāgas and the eight groups of beings. Heroic generals of the Kingdom of Ling, warrior gods & their armies gather like clouds resembling a fortress encircle the awesome blazing wrathful Vidyārāja destroying obstacles and pulverizing hordes of enemies with their adamantine might and power. The benefits of this sadhana are aplenty. Mainly the metaphorical demons and obstacles (beings with form or formless ones with malicious intent impeding spiritual progress) of a practitioner will be eradicated completely once they arise. The deity and his entourage of ferocious guardians will guard and watch over the practitioner with their glaring eyes of blazing wisdom and accomplish all mundane and supra-mundane wishes swiftly.
