Help build a new Rinzai monastery

Post by Meido » Tue May 28, 2013 9:24 pm

Korinji, a Rinzai Zen Buddhist sodo (training monastery) under construction near Madison, Wisconsin in the USA's upper midwest region, invites volunteers both with and without construction experience. During the warmer months, we gather on specific weekends to practice and work together on Korinji's 17 forested acres. Korinji's first structure - a 2100 square foot training hall - is scheduled to be completed and dedicated this year. We also continue to develop our grounds, trails, garden and the future residence site.

For more info and a schedule of upcoming work weekends, please see http://www.korinji.org (or feel free to pm me). You may also join our general mailing list through the site to receive a monthly email newsletter and updates.

Many thanks, Venerable!

Resources are tight and slow to come, but somehow in four years - starting with nothing - we've managed to purchase land and construct our first building. Our volunteers and donors have already accomplished something remarkable.

More news later this year as we wrap up the interior build-out of the zendo.
