Achi Chokyi Drolma Empowerment, Vajra Yogini and Chakrasamvara teachings and meditation instruction

Post by elizadoalot »

Dear Dharma Friends,

We are so excited to announce that Khenpo Samdup will be returning to Vancouver to teach again Sept. 15, 16 and 17th. The teachings will be located at:

Killarney Garden’s Housing Co-op Common Room,
2998 East 54th Ave.
Vancouver, B.C.
V5S 2A2

FRI, SEPT 15th - Venerable Khenpo Samdup will bestow an Achi Chokyi Drolma Empowerment. Achi Chokyi Drolma is the Great Wisdom Dakini and dharma protector for practitioners of the 1000 Buddhas and benefits sentient beings through her compassion and wisdom. Mother Achi is an emanation of Vajrayogini.  Her swift action may manifest in many ways to quickly remove both outer and inner obstacles for those who have faith and devotion to her. Khenpo Samdup will bestow this empowerment, thereby strengthening the karmic connection for both newer and older practitioners who do this powerful protection and inner wisdom practice.  Sadhanas will be available for purchase.

SAT, SEPT 16th - Khenpo Samdup will give oral transmission and review the deity practices of Chakrasamvara and Vajrayogini that were bestowed in Vancouver, May 2017 by H.E. Garchen Rinpoche. These practices are the important yidam deities of Vajrayana Buddhism and are famous for having brought profound realization to the lineage masters. If you did not attend the empowerments in May with H.E. Garchen Rinpoche, you are still welcome to attend these teachings. Sadhanas will be available for purchase.

SUN, SEPT 17th - Venerable Khenpo Samdup will give detailed meditation instruction on Shamatha meditation and Vipassana meditation. He has been instructed by H.E. Garchen Rinpoche to develop a curriculum for these practices for all of Rinpoche’s students. Shamatha means stilled and settled state of mind. In order to advance in our meditative practice, it is first important that we calm our mind, if we miss this essential step all the advanced practices of mediation are of no value. This will be an excellent refresher for advanced meditators and a good introduction to newer individuals on the path, or for those from other spiritual traditions who would like to learn this important and powerful practice.

Vipassana or insight meditation is analytical meditation. Khenpo will explain how to use traditional techniques of analysis and investigation to come to understand that directly experience the fundamental nature of mind and phenomena. Khenpo has written a book on these practices under the direction and request of H.E. Garchen Rinpoche.  These books will be available for purchase.
