Sakya Monlam North America 21-24 September, 2017

Post by kirtu »

Sakya Monlam North America, 21-24 September, 2017, Walden, NY.
With great joy, we invite you to attend the very first North American Sakya Monlam for World Peace—an extraordinary event that will be presided over by His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche (the 41st Sakya Trizin) and His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche (the 42nd Sakya Trizin). Members of all Buddhist lineages and traditions are warmly welcomed to join.

The Monlam will be hosted by Venerable Khenpo Kalsang Gyaltsen, Abbot of Tsechen Kunchab Ling, Temple of All-Encompassing Great Compassion, the Seat of the Sakya Trizins of the Dolma Phodrang in the United States. The temple is located at 12 Edmunds Lane, Walden, New York 12586.

The Monlam will begin on September 21 and conclude on September 24, 2017. The assembly will chant traditional prayers such as Samantabhadra’s Aspiration to Noble Deeds. The Monlam will include several special programs: an opening ceremony inaugurated by His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche, a birthday celebration and long-life ceremony for His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche, a golden enthronement celebration ceremony for His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trizin Rinpoche, and a long-life empowerment.

We urge you to register early so that we may carefully plan this event. As an incentive, we are offering a designated seating area for early registrants. We humbly request all of you to participate.

Zen Master Seung Sahn said, “That’s simple. Atomic bombs come from the mind that likes this and doesn’t like that.”

"Even if you practice only for an hour a day with faith and inspiration, good qualities will steadily increase. Regular practice makes it easy to transform your mind. From seeing only relative truth, you will eventually reach a profound certainty in the meaning of absolute truth."
