Garchen Vajrakilaya and More

Post by jkarlins »

https://garchen.net/annual-events/

Starting Nov 11 with Vajrakilaya, Vajrasattva, and Chod.

I'm hoping they webcast these, as they've done with previous ones.

How often there is commitment like '10,000 or 108 or 10 mantras/prayers per day'?
May all beings be free from suffering and causes of suffering

No idea. I know for Vajrayogini Garchen said the only samaya was kindness and compassion. I think he says this a fair amount.

I would email the institute to check if you're wondering.

Rinpoche does not usually give practice commitments in his public empowerments. The only commitment normally given is to keep the root vows of bodhicitta and compassion!

I'm taking the empowerment tomorrow and having a little trouble tracking down the Vajrakilaya text. It is listed on Garchen.net, but out of stock. Help!

I suggest that you call them, not email as they are busy, and ask if they have a pdf, and/or get the name of the practice text. And then do a google.

Didn't think I would be able to attend, but things worked out in such a way that I can attend the teachings via webcast. :D

Glad to hear it, Miroku!

I won't be there in person, just sitting in my meditation room watching the webcast.

What about making it a tripartite pact, lads? :spy:

I am considering attending it online, but I am not sure if it is the right choice or not, given that I do not really know anything about the practice, and that I will most probably not be practicing it. However, I will be doing my best to uphold samaya in any case and will be continuing with other practices. I suppose it would be taking it as a blessing, as is sometimes said.
