I will go there and wondered:

What can one do in advance to prepare for Chenrezig empowerment?

Is anybody driving there from Bavaria (Germany)? ;)

:applause:

Chenrezig is the embodiment of the compassion of all the Buddhas.

Any kind of lovingkiness and compassion meditation. These are separate in Buddhism. Lovingkinness is the wish that all beings everywhere have relative and ultimate happiness. Compassion is the wish that all beings everywhere be free from suffering.

If you have a Buddhist background in another tradition do the lovingkindness and impermanace meditations found in that tradition and additionally meditate analytically on the necessity of attaining enlightenement in order to liberate all beings from samsara.

If you have a Tibetan Buddhist background in some form, then meditate on the Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind (the rarity of a preciousness human life, the faults of samsara, impermanace, the inevitability of death and rebirth, and karma) and the Four Immeasurables (May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness, may all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering, may no being be separated from sorrowless bliss, may all beings live in equanimity without attachment and hatred to those near and far), and relative Bodhicitta, the commitment to attain Buddhahood for the sake of all beings. So this is all general Mahayana Buddhism but the presentation is unique to Tibetan Buddhism.

You could also add any kind of repentance or purification practice . This is why we see Tibetans prostrating outside of these kinds of events. So something like the Three Heap Sutra if you are so inclined (at first this may appear to be a kind of exaggeration because we have definitely not done some of the things mentioned at least in this life).
