In conjunction with Vesak Day Samten Rinpoche, will give the Buddha Sakyamuni & 16 Arhats empowerment Before Lord Buddha Sakyamuni entered in parinirvana, he has requested the 16 Arhats to protect the Buddha Dharma and expounded it to sentient beings.

The empowerment acts as a blessing from the Buddha and the great Arhats. The main significance for receiving this empowerment are:
1) To request ever flourishing of the Buddha Dharma
2) To maintain harmony and peace between students
3) To prevent dispute or obscuration on the path of practicing the Buddha Dharma
4) To attain enlightenment of the Three Vehicles

Lord Buddha Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism. He was born in 623 B.C. in Lumbini Grove, under the shade of a flowering Sal tree and given the name Siddhartha, which means one whose purpose has been achieved.

He renounced all worldly pleasures and later attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree at Gaya, where he was called the Buddha which means "The Awakened One". Thereafter, the Buddha traveled to different places to expound the Dharma to a diverse range of people for 45 years.

Before the Buddha passed into parinirvana, he told his disciples that "All conditioned things are impermanent." Having said that, he passed into Mahaparinirvana.
