Canberra, March 23, Ven. Khenchen Tsultim Lodro

Post by Kim O'Hara »

Late notice but ...
I am delighted to report at short notice that the eminent Tibetan Buddhist Master, Venerable Khenchen Tsultim Lodro has agreed to give a free public talk tomorrow (Wednesday, 23 March 2016) at the School Hall at Miles Franklin Primary School (next door to the Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra), Alderman Street, Evatt, Canberra ACT from 7.00pm - 9.00pm.

We are very happy that this was possible as Venerable Khenchen Tsultim Lodro is a very highly regarded teacher and is well known internationally for his many social good initiatives including promoting vegetarianism and environmental awareness.

The talk's topic is How to Be Compassionate: a Buddhist Perspective, and starts at 7pm tomorrow evening.

Born in Kardze in 1962, Khenchen Tsultim Lodro is the founder of Larung Gar Buddhist Academy in Tibet. He is a highly regarded Buddhist master and one of the world’s most prominent Tibetan Buddhist scholars. He teaches Dharma worldwide, often in schools such as Harvard, Stanford, Oxford and Beijing University. He founded Wisdom and Compassion Elementary Schools, the Novice Monk Schools, various nursing homes, and Initiation of Loving Heart, an organization which encourages Buddhists to cultivate compassion by helping the needy. He also promotes environmental awareness and vegetarianism. This is his first visit to Canberra.

Hosted by the Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra Inc.
