Obstacles in practice

As Tantra often involves vows and samaya related to secret practice, this sub-forum has been created where Vajrayana practitioners can pose questions, and any of our members or staff can reply confidentially by PM.

Obstacles in practice

Post by Könchok Thrinley »

Hi,

recently I have started ngöndro and since then things have been breaking up and some financial obstacles manifested. I am quite surprised as usually everything goes well. Not that I expect things to go well for the rest of my life, but it is still surprising. I remember reading in one Ole Nydahl's book that when one does ngöndro then things can start falling apart a bit as ngöndro is a serious purification. Can anybody validate this statement from personal experience or teachings? What were your obstacles and experiences during ngöndro?
“Observing samaya involves to remain inseparable from the union of wisdom and compassion at all times, to sustain mindfulness, and to put into practice the guru’s instructions”. Garchen Rinpoche

For those who do virtuous actions,
goodness is what comes to pass.
For those who do non-virtuous actions,
that becomes suffering indeed.
