Probably a tame question for this area, but I wanted to be safe:
I have noticed that in the Tibetan practices i've gotten instruction on (a couple of Tsa Lung, a little other stuff) involving direct breathing instruction, I am mostly instructed to breath only through the nostrils. I grew up practicing Qigong and martial arts, where sometimes you exhale through the mouth, and have found the slow exhaling through the mouth produces relaxation very quickly. I am wondering if there is some reason specifically *not* to do this, and what it is, since it seems to produce relaxation quickly.
