Hello!
I have been a buddhist for nearly a year. I have practiced at many temples, from theravada, zen, to nichiren.
My question is, how can I enter practice in Vajrayana? It seems that all practices are 'secret' except for public events like pujas.
Now, in Toronto, my city, there are a few options I have. I would like some insight as to whether any of these are good place to start.
Various Tibetan Temples- Do I just go up to a lama and ask for empowerment? Many of them do not speak english, hiw could I become a disciple? There doesn't seem to be much info regarding this.
My problem being, it seems like it's a commitment to belong to a tradition like a monogomous relationship. What if I don't like it? What if I want to explore further?
Please help, I am so intrigued to explore but confused where to start!
How to begin Tantra?
As Tantra often involves vows and samaya related to secret practice, this sub-forum has been created where Vajrayana practitioners can pose questions, and any of our members or staff can reply confidentially by PM.
