"Ick bin I'n Bear-Leaner"

Post by Ayu »

(With these words John F. Kennedy impressed the citizens of the devided part of the city West-Berlin on 26th of june, 1963.)

Here I found a map of Germany with the "correct" pronounciation for native English speakers:

love it.

When I was in school and studying spoken German, one of the hardest things should have been easy: wrapping my mouth around the difference between "Berg" and "Burg." Both of them sound like "Brrrgh" where I grew up, and not "Peark" and "Pourque" as Frau Schneider insisted. I remember saying the word "Wörterbücher" again and again to strengthen the muscles in my lips*

The distribution of vowels in European languages seems unfair. How did the French, Italians, and Germans get so many, but the Serbs, Croats, and Poles get so few?

*Yes, I am aware that American English is a mushmouthed disaster

I think, the native word is "Sweets". No Zen at all, I'm sorry.

Depends how 'native' you want. Without "Zen" I might as well be in Hell Wet Ear!
