Post by Maninder »

Can the english translation be recited ?or the sanskrit/tibetan one should be? Does anyone have the sanskrit text here...

And how many times is it to be recited ?

Thia prayer is from a famous 14th century terma... the "seven chapters", which is translated in its entirety into English by Lama Ngawang Zangpo in the book Guru Rinpoche: His Life and Times, with an explanation by Ngari Panchen.

Therefore there is no Indian version of this text. You can choose whether to recite it in English or Tibetan. Either way, you should know the meaning of what you are reciting, not just mouthing words.

Sometimes lamas advise specific numbers to recite for a specific purpose. If you have not been given a certain number, you can recite it however much you want. The main point is to doing with as much faith and devotion as you can muster--that's more important than numbers.

I answered your question in the above post.

Unless a lama has told you personally to do a certain number of repetitions, you can recite it as much or a little as you like. Focus on being sincere.
