Never really introduced myself so... Hello!

Post by DeepFriedFunk » Mon Jul 15, 2013 3:33 am

Hey there,

First of all I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone on the forum. I have learned a great deal but admittedly I have only really posted when I was very depressed, close to relapse or at the bottom of a bottle (I found Buddhism through alcoholism... a healthy swap I would say!)

Anyway, I will try to be a little more active in the forums and perhaps offer some help just as I have received help during some very troubling times.

My name is Joshua (or Lobsang Rangdol - I can't remember the translation for 'Lobsang' but I know 'Rangdol' means self-liberation, which was nice as the monk with whom I took refuge had watched me crawl out of a drunken hole and put my life back together over a couple of years.)

Precious alcohol, so kind.
Equanimity is the ground. Love is the moisture. Compassion is the seed. Bodhicitta is the result.

-Paraphrase of Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Tsephel citing the Guhyasamaja Tantra

"All memories and thoughts are the union of emptiness and knowing, the Mind.
Without attachment, self-liberating, like a snake in a knot.
Through the qualities of meditating in that way,
Mental obscurations are purified and the dharmakaya is attained."
