Re: hello from ohio
hi, maybe you should try to find a dharma center in ohio if you want to learn buddhism. and get some good books.
welcome.
welcome.
If the thought of demons
Never rises in your mind,
You need not fear the demon hosts around you.
It is most important to tame your mind within....
In so far as the Ultimate, or the true nature of being is concerned,
there are neither buddhas or demons.
He who frees himself from fear and hope, evil and virtue,
will realize the insubstantial and groundless nature of confusion.
Samsara will then appear as the mahamudra itself….

Hello. I am new here as well.
You should read Dhammapada - The Path of Dhamma. As well as the suggestion of the other poster of visiting a temple. Most temples have meditation classes and will give insight into meditation, the 5 precepts, 4 noble truths and other information that is helpful.
Namaste.

Hi elake,
Welcome to DharmaWheel. There are some very good temples in Ohio that are very much worth a visit. Here's one example.

If you have any questions about a temple in your area, put it to the board--the odds are good that someone here knows something about it and can be of help.
