I against I

Postby Jesse » Sat Jan 04, 2014 8:06 am

Who am I?

A Fool, and a Ghost -- Hungry only for things I can never have.
I am a Thought, a Story, and a Perspective -- I am only things which can never last.
I am an Actor, a Narrator, and a Phantom -- I am a story that writes itself.

Perturbed by all the things I am not, I ask myself; "Why Am I?" -- A Riddle, a Question, and a Farce.
Am I to love? To be loved? To seek truth, or to find it? -- Am I to find meaning in a world inherently void of purpose?
How cruel it is to exist! We must choose to live in the darkness of ignorance, or to face the worlds most painful truths.

So, Who am I?

I am a child, and it's so painfully obvious -- I am nobody, just a small flame flickering amongst the billions of other small flames,
We flicker together, Hoping to burn away the darkness of ignorance surrounding us, and we do so never truly understanding why.
"We know nothing at all. All our knowledge is but the knowledge of schoolchildren. The real nature of things we shall never know." - Albert Einstein
