Hello to All (Gassho)

Postby Ray1947 » Sun Jan 26, 2014 4:41 pm

My name is Ray. I am 66 years of age, a grandfather of one, and a practicing buddhist since the early 70's. I have no official affiliation with a physical sangha, as there are none in my immediate area. As my practice has become more fixed in my daily life, questions have arisen, and insights have been gained. I hope this will be a forum where I can enter into discussions to help find answers, expand practice and help others in return. Thank you for the privilege of membership.

hello and welcome. :namaste:
If the thought of demons
Never rises in your mind,
You need not fear the demon hosts around you.
It is most important to tame your mind within....

In so far as the Ultimate, or the true nature of being is concerned,
there are neither buddhas or demons.
He who frees himself from fear and hope, evil and virtue,
will realize the insubstantial and groundless nature of confusion.
Samsara will then appear as the mahamudra itself….

Hello and welcome. :hi:
We follow a spiritual path because we want to defeat our emotions and attain enlightenment, and to achieve that goal we need discipline, guidance and the courage to confront everything we have spent many lifetimes trying to avoid.
~Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche
