Hello all!
I have been reading and benefiting from the discussion here for a while so I thought I should register and say hello.
I am 49 years old and live in New Orleans. I have had a lifelong fascination with Buddhism, beginning with reading Alan Watts when I was 12 or so.
I have been a practicing Buddhist since 1996, taking refuge with HH Penor Rinpoche.
I am grateful to be here and look forward to learning from you all.
Scott
Hello from New Orleans
Re: Hello from New Orleans
Welcome!
There is no suffering to be severed. Ignorance and klesas are indivisible from bodhi. There is no cause of suffering to be abandoned. Since extremes and the false are the Middle and genuine, there is no path to be practiced. Samsara is nirvana. No severance achieved. No suffering nor its cause. No path, no end. There is no transcendent realm; there is only the one true aspect. There is nothing separate from the true aspect.

We do have a local community, centered in Tibetan House, a store and learning center, where they occasionally host teachers and have regular meditation practice.
