Insight Meditation Timer

Post by Wayfarer » Sat Jul 27, 2013 12:32 am

A friend showed me the excellent Insight Timer which I put on my iPhone earlier this month. It has lots of nice features, not least of which is keeping a log, producing beautiful bell-tones, and 'connecting' you with others using it all over the globe. Very neat little app.

No wisdom can we get hold of
No highest perfection
No Bodhisattva, no thought of enlightenment either
When told of this, if not bewildered and in no way anxious
A Bodhisattva courses in the Tathāgata's wisdom.

I've never used it but a lot of people over on the other DW seem to like it:

I have a couple of silent vibrio watches as gifts. Used once I think. A traditional method was using incense that has a known burning time . . .

I've been usimg this for some months now. I really like it and its features.

Everyday problems teach us to have a realistic attitude.
They teach us that life is what life is; flawed.
Yet with tremendous potential for joy and fulfillment.

If your path teaches you to act and exert yourself correctly and leads to spiritual realizations such as love, compassion and wisdom then obviously it's worthwhile.

One whose mind is freed does not argue with anyone, he does not dispute with anyone. He makes use of the conventional terms of the world without clinging to them
